What's the vent thingy called?

Hi all,

This past weekend, while opening the outside cook-top vent, I noticed that one of the vent flap pegs(?), clips or whatever it is, is missing from the exterior vent. Ventline, the manufacturer, does not seem to sell these things on their website. Any ideas?

I can't imagine I'm the only one who has lost one of these pegs. Maybe others have developed substitute fixes for this. One clip seems to hold now but, I suspect, it's only a matter of time before I lose that one as well.

Ksitte, that there is your clemptofoner, a highly sophisticated device designed to eliminate tangental movement in your flapper.

Actually, I would just drop Escape a line. They could possibly get some from the vent hood supplier they buy from.

Yup, Jim, I like clemptofoner much better. But who knows what I would have ended up with?! Thanks so much, Jubal, for doing the research. Now I'll check with Ventline to see if those vent damper retainers don't cost more than the vent itself.

They are called turn tabs.
They are also used to hold in screens on older windows, glass in some cabinet doors etc.
I bet if you stop in at your local glass shop they would give you one... I used to.
